With the help of our members, we’re thrilled to share that our Greenfleet campaign has successfully reached its goal! Launched last year, the campaign aimed to plant one native tree for every new member who joined Australian Mutual Bank.

Three Cedars NSW Forest Red Gum SeedlingThanks to the support of our members, 720 native trees have been planted in the Australian Mutual Bank forest, at Three Cedars, on Bundjalung Country, west of Nimbin in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. This vital revegetation project will help restore an ecosystem rich in biodiversity and cultural significance.

Over 80 locally native species have been planted, including the native Bangalow palm (Archontophoenix cunninghamii) and the endangered small-leaved tamarind (Dipoglottis campbellii), a rainforest tree endemic to the region now threatened due to land clearing.

By restoring this site, the Australian Mutual Bank forest is helping to:

  • Provide habitat for endangered and vulnerable fauna such as koalas and grey-headed flying foxes, with giant barred frogs and rose-crowned fruit doves also known to inhabit the region.
  • Enhance riparian areas to support species like platypuses and native fish.
  • Rebuild an ecosystem that stores carbon, protects waterways, and safeguards threatened species.

This campaign reflects Australian Mutual Bank’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The initiative helps combat climate change, improves air quality, and enhances landscapes that benefit both people and wildlife. Every tree planted supports ecosystems, helps prevent soil erosion, and strengthens the resilience of our natural environment.

We thank our members for their enthusiasm and support throughout this campaign. Their involvement ensures that together we can continue to invest in initiatives that benefit our communities and the planet.

While this campaign has now concluded, our dedication to sustainability continues. We look forward to sharing future opportunities where our members can help us make an even greater positive impact
